Iron (Fe) exists in heme (from animal sources like liver, meat, fish) and non-heme (from plant sources like beans, soy, nuts). Heme iron has better bioavailability and its absorption is influenced by other dietary factors.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is a water-soluble B vitamin found in whole grains, organ meats, and legumes.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is an essential, water-soluble vitamin that must be obtained through diet – found in fresh fruits and vegetables like bell peppers, kohlrabi, oranges, and blackcurrants.

Folic acid (vitamin B9) is a B vitamin present in dark leafy greens (kale, Brussels sprouts, parsley), legumes, grains, and organ meats.
