OstroVit Folic Acid is a source of vitamin B9.
Folic acid is an organic chemical compound classified as a water-soluble B vitamin. It is a substance also commonly referred to as vitamin B9.
After ingestion, with the help of specific enzymes, folic acid is converted to the active form of the vitamin — 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF), allowing it to perform its functions in the body.
Folic acid was first isolated from spinach leaves, but sources of the compound also include dark green vegetables such as kale, Brussels sprouts and parsley, as well as dry pulses, grain products and offal.
